If there’s one fact about music, it's that it serves as a safe space for self-expression, creative freedom, and wearing one’s heart on his, her, or their sleeve. This Pride Month and beyond, artists from the LGBTQIA+ community are making sure that their voices are heard and their rainbow flags raised.

Here are five LGBTQIA+ artists who deserve a spot on your playlists.

1. Shanne Dandan

Shanne Dandan may just be a fairy in human form. The queer artist is known for her mystical beats reminiscent of the Manila Sound genre, with a distinct voice that goes well with her love songs.

Listen to: “Himig ng Pag-ibig,” “Boy, I Love You,” “Hanggang sa Langit”

2. Kio Priest

Kio Priest started his career as a songwriter for artists like Nadine Lustre and James Reid, as well as for popular food brands in the Philippines. Now a rising pop singer, Kio sings about the many happenings when one falls in love.

Listen to: “Night Time Prince,” “Man in My Dream,” “Text You First”

3. Paul Pablo

Paul Pablo is the kind of artist who is unapologetically himself. The artist not only gives raw lyrics and strong vocals to express his sexuality as a gay man, but also interprets his music into self-directed music videos.

Listen to: “Bangin,” “Sagi,” “Kalawakan”

4. Stef Aranas

Stef Aranas has songs for various themes like yearning, romance, and empowering baddie anthems. The transgender pop and R&B artist also sings about youth, love, and girlhood in Quezon City, truly deserving a spot on music playlists.

Listen to: “QC Gurlz,” “Don’t Like You Like That,” “Cvnty”

5. Dom Guyot

Dom Guyot is an R&B artist with the smooth voice of a balladeer. Dom is best known for not holding back with lyrics that tackle themes of sexy intimacy and hurtful heartbreaks.

Listen to: “Balik,” “I Miss U,” “Haven”
