A scene from "Zootopia 2"
Disney
MANILA, Philippines — Time to let it go Elsa, it's Judy Hopps' time to shine.
After cracking $1.46 billion (P85.9 billion) at the global box office, "Zootopia 2" is now the highest-grossing film of all time by Walt Disney Animation.
It defeats another popular animated sequel, "Frozen 2," which topped out at $1.45 billion (P85.3 billion).
It still has some ways to go before becoming the highest-grossing animated film by Disney overall, a record currently held by Pixar's "Inside Out 2" with $1.698 billion (P99.9 billion).
"Zootopia 2" obtained a billion dollars alone from the overseas market, half of that contributed by the China box office where the film is a hit, as evident by the Zootopia land that opened in Shanghai Disneyland two years ago.
The movie previously broke the record for the fastest PG-rated and animated movie to reach a billion dollars globally, doing so in just 17 days after going wide.

It was the third film this year to hit the billion-dollar mark after another Disney release, the live-action adaptation of "Lilo & Stitch," and Chinese animation "Ne Zha 2," which is 2025's highest-grossing film as the only movie to crack two billion.
Set just days after the events of the first film from 2016, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) find their chemistry as police force partners and friends being tested as rumors of a snake being spotted in the city circulate.
Zootopia has not seen a snake for many years; in fact reptiles and most water creatures aren't often seen in public, which opens new chapters in the films' creative worldbuilding.
Despite their boss' orders, Judy and Nick begin investigating a case concerning a journal detailing the city's origins, particularly the weather walls — structures that allow the different animals to live in their preferred environments.
A pit viper named Gary (Ke Huy Quan) is indeed involved in opposition to a family of lynxes led by patriarch Milton Lynxley (David Straithairn), and the two partners go on the run searching for the truth about Zootopia's history.
