MANILA, Philippines — Xyriel Manabat remained adamant on taking action against a Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) driver who allegedly made lewd remarks in posting a photo with the young actress online.
The photo in question was a selfie posted by a Facebook account named "Boss Toyo Mansi" and appeared to make crude comments about Xyriel's appearance.
The concerned account is no longer active on the platform but screenshots of the post have circulated.
Speaking to members of the media at a junket for her upcoming Netflix movie "18 Roses" with Kyle Echarri, Xyriel recalled being courteous with the driver in question before expressing dismay upon seeing the viral post.
"I hope your familly, mom, sister, or worse you have a daughter or wife, sana makita nila 'to na ganyan ka na klaseng tao," Xyriel stated.
The actress made it clear she would always defend women and every victimized individual, adding that incidents like these fuel the need to spread more awareness about addressing similar issues.

"We practice zero tolerance for inappropriate contact and other misconduct," the company said. "Rest assured, we have invited the driver involved as part of our full investigation and are committed to taking the necessary actions."
The company issued late last night an apology to Xyriel for the "unacceptable experience" and confirmed that the driver has been placed under preventive suspension. It reiterated that the behavior is a grave violation and a bannable offense under its guidelines.
"We are now undertaking a comprehensive review of our driver behavior protocols, including those governing post-trip conduct, and will introduce further safeguards to address any gaps this incident may have exposed," the company added.
