Xiaomi has revealed a new feature called WinPlay. It will allow their users to play Windows PC games on their tablets.

Zhang Guoquan, Director of Xiaomi Mobile System Software Department, states that the Xiaomi HyperCore is able to run Windows games with WinPlay engine. This new feature can create a virtual environment to support Windows titles, making sure that games are stable.

WinPlay can also support gaming peripherals such as controllers, keyboards, mice, and the like. After testing the WinPlay engine with the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4, Guoquan states that the GPU performance loss is only 2.9%. Guoquan states that after trying Tomb Raider (2013), it was able to run at an average of 45 frames, and only take 8.3W of power consumption on the tablet.

There is currently an open beta for Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 users to try WinPlay provided that they are running the HyperOS 2 beta. Users who are interested can apply via the Xiaomi Community app.
