Women leaders honored in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The extraordinary achievements of women who have made significant impacts in their respective communities and em-bodied the spirit of determination and excellence were recognized during a ceremony at The Pavilion of Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here on Monday.

Among the honorees was Emeliza Laurenciana of Santa Maria, the chairperson of the Catmon Multiple-Purpose Cooperative and school di-rectress of Aquinas de Escolar Academy. She was honored as the "Natatanging Babae (Outstanding Woman)" at the Gawad Medalyang Ginto 2025.

Also cited were Evelyn Asingua of Malolos, who was hailed as the "Matagumpay na Ginang ng OFW (OFW's wife)"; Marissa Del Rosario of Marilao as the "Matagumpay na Babaeng Makakalikasan (environment)"; Mary Vianney Sato of Plaridel was honored as the "Huwarang Kabataang Babae sa Pamumuno (youth leader)"; and Maria Donna Adora Borlongan of Pulilan was named "Matagumpay na Babaeng Mangan-galakal (business)."

Additionally, the Rotary Club of Plaridel Kristal was awarded as the "Natatanging Samahan (Outstanding Organization)."

The Gawad Medalyang Ginto (gold medal award) continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration, showcasing how determination and resilience can drive positive change.

This year's event was a powerful reminder of the vital role women play in shaping a better society.

This year's awarding ceremony was attended by Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno as the guest of honor.

Meanwhile, Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando said that the celebration is a testament to the strength and influence of women in the communities.

"Each of these winners exemplifies the spirit of empowerment that we strive to promote through the Gawad Medalyang Ginto initia-tive. You are the golden treasures of Bulacan," he said.
