BAGUIO CITY , Philippines — A woman has been sentenced to life in prison for allegedly operating a drug den in this city.
Mary Grace Sibug was arrested for possession of illegal drugs in March 2023 following a raid on her apartment in Barangay Leonila Hill.
In a ruling issued on Monday, Judge Lilibeth Sindayen-Libiran of the Baguio Regional Trial Court Branch 61 found Sibug guilty of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency reportedly found 37.83 grams of shabu and drug paraphernalia in Sibug’s apartment, which the defendant allegedly used as a drug den.
