Winwyn Marquez received a valuable painting as a special prize from her father, veteran actor Joey Marquez, following her first runner-up placement in Miss Universe Philippines 2025.

In Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Winwyn said that she had her eye on the collector’s item even before the pageant.

“I was asking for a painting that he had way before. A Lamarroza painting. Sabi ko, ‘Dad, can I have that painting ngayon if manalo ako?’” Winwyn said.

In response, Joey told her, “No. Mag-top 10 ka lang, OK na. Bibigay ko sa ‘yo.”

Joey’s response highlighted his primary wish for her participation in the national pageant.

“OK, my dad just wants me to enjoy. Because before I joined Miss Universe Philippines, ang sabi niya sa ‘kin, ‘Do not join if you’re after fame or money or anything else. If you’re joining because you want to make a statement na in your season as a mother nakaya mong gawin, ‘yun ang gawin mo.’ And that's what happened,” Winwyn said.

True to his word, Joey presented Winwyn with the painting after the coronation night, coinciding with her birthday, and told her, “This is it, anak. This is yours.”

Winwyn said that her dad was visibly happy to see her with her first runner-up sash.

“Tuwang-tuwa siya. Sabi ko I love my parents for just raising me the way they raised me,” she said.

Beyond the painting, Joey also demonstrated his ardent support for Winwyn’s pageant journey.

“May voting system kasi ang Miss Universe Philippines. Grabe siya mag-vote, Tito Boy. Feeling ko lahat ng products, nabili na niya para iboto ako. At ang ginawa niya do’n sa products, pinamigay niya sa lahat ng kakilala niya,” Winwyn said.

“My dad was really invested in the pageant because he was happy that I was happy.”

Miss Universe Philippines 2025 marked Winwyn’s pageantry comeback, representing Muntinlupa.

Despite not winning the crown, Winwyn still cheered for Ahtisa Manalo during her crowning moment.

On Instagram, she said that everything about the journey was “so unexpected... a beautiful surprise I never thought would be mine.”
