MANILA, Philippines — Home improvement and finishing construction supply retailer Wilcon Depot Inc. saw its earnings slip by 3.3 percent P2.45 billion last year as a strong second half showing failed to offset a slower first semester performance.

Wilcon’s net sales improved by 3.7 percent year-on-year to P35.44 billion in 2025, attributed mainly to the net sales generated from new stores as comparable sales growth closed the year flattish.

Net income for the fourth quarter surged by 41.3 percent to P580 million, with net sales rising by 7.3 percent year-on-year to P9.11 billion during the three-month period.

“We are happy to announce that we were able to maintain positive same store sales growth in the fourth quarter, which resulted in a second half net income increase of 26 percent,” Wilcon president and CEO Lorraine Belo- Cincochan said.

“We recalibrated some functional strategies, such as in-store organizational structure and processes, product marketing plans, store layouts, among others, which were aimed at reversing performance downturns. I would like to thank both our frontline and support teams for their cooperation and hard work, which enabled us to achieve this turnaround,” she said.

Belo-Cincochan said the company would continue to open stores in 2026, with eight planned for the year.

The company has so far opened three new stores this year.

Last year, Wilcon opened six new depots, while two smaller format Do It Wilcon (DIW) stores were closed and one depot that burned down in 2024 was reopened.

This brought Wilcon’s total number of operating stores to 104 by the end of 2025.

Wilcon was able to achieve its 100th store milestone in December 2024, a year ahead of its 2025 target.

The company started in 1977 with its first store in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

By expanding with its smaller store formats, Wilcon aims to make its offerings even more accessible to underserved areas.
