FOR the ninth consecutive year, Tala has earned a spot on the prestigious Forbes 2025 Fintech 50 list, recognizing top companies revolutionizing financial services through technology.
"We're honored that Tala is once again included. This marks 11 years of serving the global majority by addressing financial inclusion gaps," said Moritz Gastl, general manager of Tala Philippines.
The recognition coincides with Tala Philippines' eighth anniversary. Since 2017, Tala has achieved key milestones, including a P2.75 billion loan partnership with Maya Bank to expand credit access. Tala also co-sponsored the Digital Lending Report by FintechAlliance PH and is a founding member of the Consumer Lending Association of the Philippines (CLAP), reinforcing its commitment to responsible lending.
In 2024, Tala recorded its highest number of new borrowers since the pandemic. It has served 3.6 million Filipinos, disbursing 23.6 million loans worth P113.6 billion. With a 94-percent repeat rate, Tala remains a trusted financial partner.
Customers like May and Hector have leveraged Tala loans to start businesses, demonstrating its impact beyond lending. Tala also promotes financial literacy through initiatives like TALAkayan with Salve Duplito.
