Which mayors in the Philippines come from political dynasties?

At least 113 out of 149 mayors in the country belong to political dynasties, according to a report published by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ).

A total of 80, or about 53% of all city mayors, are seeking reelection this 2025, while 27 are considering relatives to replace them as they run for other positions.  

Dynasts are also gearing up to unseat incumbents in some cities where non-dynast mayors lead.

Political dynasties can be found beyond the mayoral race. Previous PCIJ researches show that these powerful families have also taken over the congressional district, party-list, and gubernatorial races.
