MANILA, Philippines — Showbiz and music personalities are set to participate in a triathlon event on March 9 in Subic Bay.
The likes of Mojofly vocalist, former “Eat Bulaga!” host and FIT PH’s Lougee Basabas, comedian-actor Bearwin Meily and his son, Ico, of AO1, actor-model Kristoffer Martin, celebrity athletes Alou and Aira Lopez, and head coach of PNY Tribe Vanessa Agdon will take part in the fifth edition of the My Daily Collagen Triathlon event under the theme “Where Stars Are Born.”
The health and wellness collagen drink supplement’s All Stars Team will be joined by other members of the triathlon community, such as Ruth Paulina of GAS Coaching, Eryka Rie Garcia of PNY Tribe, Justine Rianne Diza of Lakan Tri and Andy Darmawan of Trimac.
“We are being described as a star-studded race,” the brand’s chief sales officer Oliver Salas told The STAR in an interview. “Kristoffer is a suki of the My Daily Collagen triathlon. He is joining again. And also (broadcast journalist) Kara David. Sometimes, there are celebrities who would join na hindi lang namin na-monitor, but there are a lot. It’s fun and madali lang yung event namin. That’s why they like to join.”
The brand’s All-Stars Team marked “a true celebration of every athlete’s unique journey,” Oliver added.
“This category isn’t just for elites or celebrities; it’s our way of recognizing the dedication and passion every participant brings to the race. On race day, we believe everyone will shine like a star.”
Aside from the personalities mentioned, there are national athletes who will also join the event.
Oliver noted that they have had participants before who are now part of the national triathlon team, hence the theme “Where Stars Are Born.”
“Sometimes, this is where they discover national triathletes because all eyes are on this event in terms of triathlon.”

When it comes to selecting their celebrity ambassadors, Oliver maintained that they are “not just looking on the physical attributes but the overall personality.”
“As I’ve said before, when we have an endorser or ambassador, for example, you, we transform you into a product, ikaw na si My Daily Collagen. You are very accommodating. You have a good personality. You see the color of the brand, hindi siya intimidating. And of course, the value and benefits talagang maganda. That’s why we’re very blessed.”
Oliver continued that there are organizations and companies, such as the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. and PLDT High Speed Hitters, that approached them and partnered with them.
“They fully appreciated us. Just to share, in terms of the volleyball, si Savi (Davison) of PLDT, when we met, she told us that even before we partnered with them, she’s already buying our products. Kasi nga yung sa tuhod nila and sa shoulders — the advice is to really take collagen supplement,” shared Oliver.
Last year, there were around 600 triathletes who joined the event, according to Subic Bay Management Authority (SBMA) data. This year, Oliver said they are expecting the same number of participants.
