Is it too early to start the spooky season?
Netflix has dropped the first official teaser for "Wednesday" Season 2 and revealed that it will come in two parts!
The streaming giant revealed that the second season of the beloved horror-comedy will release its first part on August 6 and its second part on September 3.
The teaser, released on Wednesday night, showed Wednesday Addams passing through an airport on the way back to Nevermore.
“This is the first time you’ve ever willingly returned to a school. How does it feel?” asked her mother, Morticia Addams.
“Like returning to the scene of the crime… I already know where the bodies are buried,” she replied.
The teaser also showed Wednesday greeting her best friend and roommate Enid Sinclair, honing her psychic ability through visions, and encountering monsters along the way.
“Wherever there’s murder or mayhem, you will always find an Addams… You don’t have to worry about me, mother… I do my best work in the dark,” she said.
The trailer also showed returning characters from the first season, such as recently discovered Wednesday’s ex-boyfriend and Hyde monster nemesis, Tyler, and Wednesday’s eccentric uncle, Fester Addams.
The second season’s poster was released on Tuesday, featuring Wednesday tied up in a chair with runny mascara and her trusty broken hand, Thing, on her shoulder.
“The wait has been torture,” the poster read.
According to creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar via Netflix Tudum, the second season will show Wednesday going through a “delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious,” journey as she juggles “friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries” in Nevermore Academy.
Jenna Ortega returns as the titular character Wednesday, who has begun practicing her psychic ability while uncovering dark and mysterious truths at her Nevermore Academy.
She will be joined again by Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair and Hunter Doohan as Tyler, along with Luis Guzman and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Wednesday’s parents Gomez and Morticia Addams.
The first season of "Wednesday" premiered on Netflix in 2022, following Wednesday Addams’ first year in Nevermore Academy and uses her psychic ability to solve a local murder that her father had been blamed for.
The second season began production in May 2024.
