MANILA, Philippines — Kim Chiu only used to watch Paulo Avelino when he joined GMA-7's artista search "StarStruck" in 2006. From watching him dance on the show, Kim now finds herself getting closer and doing projects one after another with Paulo.

Kim said she really did not anticipate working with Paulo. The pair attended the press conference for their upcoming project "My Love Will Make You Disappear" held yesterday.

"Hindi ko alam na makaka-trabaho ko ito sa 18 years sa industry. Kelan ba ako nag-16 years na pagiging artista? Kasi sabay kaming nag-simula. Mas matanda ka lang sa akin," said Kim.

Both she and Paulo began their showbiz careers via reality TV in 2006: Kim was the winner of the very first "Pinoy Big Brother" Teen Edition on ABS-CBN, while Paulo tried his luck via the fourth season of GMA-7's artista search "StarStruck."

"Pinapanood na kita sa 'Starstruck.' Sumasayaw ka pa noon. Actually, bumoto ako," she added.

Paulo echoed Kim's sentiments, saying he also did not expect working with her.

"I never did. Hindi ko nga alam na maka-trabaho ko si Kim. But I wanted to work with her. Never ko talagang in-expect kasi after a while, nag-iba na rin 'yung tahak ng mga gusto kong gawin. So, hindi ko alam na kay Kim pala ang bagsak ko," he said.

Kim and Paulo first worked in the series "Linlang," followed by the Philippine adaptation of "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim."

“Dahil nadala na namin kayo sa TV, sa tour, ngayon sasabihin na namin, may isang malaking regalo kami ni Paulo sa inyo kasama ang Star Cinema ang 'My Love Will Make You Disappear,'” Kim said.

Conceptualized by Prime Cruz, written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio and directed by Chad Vidanes, "My Love Will Make You Disappear" will be shown in cinemas nationwide on March 26.
