WATCH: Death is coming in ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ trailer

The new horror-gore film stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt, Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd, who reprises his role as William Bludworth for the last time. Todd died on November 2024 at age 69.

Bludworth is a mortician with expert knowledge on Death. He has consistently appeared in almost every Final Destination franchise since the first installment was released in 2000.

In the two-minute trailer, we are treated to snippets of broken glass making its way into an iced drink, a BBQ grill caught on fire, a lawnmower malfunction, a bus accident, and more gory teasers.

The story follows college student Stefanie, who, plagued by recurring nightmares foretelling her family’s demise, tries to track down the person who can save her family from Death’s relentless pursuit.

Final Destination: Bloodlines is the sixth installment in the Final Destination film series. It is directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, and written by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick, who also wrote the screenplay for the horror films Ready or Not, Scream (2022), and Scream VI. 

Busick and Taylor developed Final Destination: Bloodlines’ story alongside Jon Watts, who is best known for directing Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home, and Wolfs.

Final Destination: Bloodlines is scheduled to premiere nationwide on May 16. – with reports by Bea Gatmaytan/Rappler.com
