MANILA, Philippines — Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s statement that those involved in anomalous flood control projects could be jailed before Christmas, Malacañang on Monday urged the public to “just wait” as authorities work on the cases.

“Consistent with the president’s promise, there will be individuals who will be issued warrants of arrest. Castro said the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman are currently prioritizing and working on the cases linked to the projects.

Marcos earlier vowed to hold accountable officials and private individuals allegedly involved in irregular flood control spending.
