MANILA, Philippines — Listed Vivant Corp. further strengthened its footprint in Cebu with the acquisition of a water distribution company serving over 4,000 households in the municipality of Bantayan.

The Cebu-based utilities conglomerate acquired the 100 percent equity interest of Bantayan Resource Management and Development Corp. (Bremandcor), bringing its operational expertise into the distribution segment.

The transaction was carried out through Vivant Transcore Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Vivant Water.

“This development completes our vision of bringing reliable water solutions where they are needed most,” Vivant Water president Jess Garcia said in a statement yesterday.

The acquisition, which gives Vivant Water full ownership and control of Bremandcor, complements the group’s existing investments across the water value chain.

Vivant Water is set to operate the country’s first utility-scale seawater desalination plant in Cordova, Cebu that is capable of producing up to 20 million liters of potable water daily.

“We act with intention, closing the gap in opportunities to access basic necessities, especially in areas that are often perceived as geographically challenged. More than expanding our footprint, we lookout for the communities’ needs first,” Garcia said.

Apart from water distribution operations, Vivant has also been the sole provider of electricity in Bantayan since 2022 through Isla Norte Power Corp.

“With the addition of water distribution, Vivant now completes the utility circle in Bantayan — integrating reliable energy and clean water to support households, businesses and the island’s continued growth,” the company said.

Last year, Vivant Water forged a 25-year joint venture deal with the Metropolitan Cebu Water District for water supply in the main urban center in Central Visayas.
