Vince Maristela 'reconciles' with Charo Santos after 'It's Showtime' gaffe

MANILA, Philippines — Things are smooth between Kapuso actor Vince Maristela and veteran actress-host Charo Santos-Concio following the former's humorous blunder of mistaken identity.

The whole situation began when Vince participated in the June 10, 2026 "Laro Laro Pick" segment of the noontime variety show "It's Showtime" and host Vice Ganda asked Vince who was the host of another ABS-CBN show "Maalaala Mo Kaya."

Vince incorrectly answered Cory Vidanes, who like Charo is an executive at ABS-CBN. However, the response garnered a funny response from Vice.

"Ms. Annette oh si Vince playtime!" Vice said, jokingly calling on GMA Network's senior vice president. "Ito na 'yung pinakamadaling tanong dito!"

The hilarious exchange was carried online with banter between Vince, Charo and Annette, much to the amusement of both ABS-CBN and GMA viewers.

Vince and Charo crossed paths during the Mega Ball held last June 12 in a Makati hotel, snapping a photo referencing Vince's viral moment.

"Good morning bati na po kami hehe. Congratulations, Ma'am Charo. Thank you for inspiring many generations of artists. A legend. An icon," Vince said on Instagram, congratulating Charo on being honored as a MEGA Global Icon at the event.

As pointed out by Vice, Charo has hosted "Maalaala Mo Kaya" — the longest-running drama anthology series in the Philippines — since it first aired in 1991.
