CALASIAO, Pangasinan , Philippines — A kagawad was shot dead by a lone assailant inside a village hall in this town on Wednesday.
The victim was resting when the assailant barged into the hall in Barangay Poblacion East and shot him.
However, the firearm malfunctioned, prompting the victim to run away, but the gunman chased and shot him several times.
The assailant fled on a waiting motorcycle.
Probers recovered four bullet shells and a live bullet for a .45-caliber pistol at the crime scene.
