Alternate Representative for Landbank
MANILA, Philippines — The Maharlika Investment Corp. (MIC) said that it appointed a banking and finance veteran to its board of directors.
In a statement on Wednesday, February 18, the MIC appointed Rolando Peñaflor as a Regular Director and Enrico Cruz as an independent director.
The MIC said that Peñaflor will serve a three-year term as regular director. He was a senior vice president in corporate banking at the Bank of the Philippine Islands. He also served as president of Jardiniano Development Corp., Aspirea Development Corp. and Oro de Siete Productions.
Cruz, on the other hand, served on the board of directors of five publicly listed companies and five private companies in a variety of industries, according to the MIC.
"Their depth of experience and independent perspective will be invaluable as we continue to build a disciplined, transparent, and globally credible sovereign investment institution," MIC President and CEO Rafael Consing Jr. said.
"These appointments strengthen our collective expertise as MIC transitions into a period of decisive capital deployment across priority sectors of the Philippine economy," he added.
Meanwhile, the MIC also announced that lawyer Roderick Sacro, executive vice president of the Land Bank of the Philippines, is also assuming his role as LandBank's alternate representative to the MIC.
