Cabanatuan City — Julius Cesar Vergara took his oath of office as representative of Nueva Ecija's 3rd Congressional District before Regional Trial Court Judge Trese Wenceslao at the New Cabanatuan City Convention Center in Barangay Bitas on Monday.

Vergara replaced his wife Rosanna Ria Vergara who served for three consecutive terms as lawmaker. The incoming congressman defeated in the recent midterm election Czarina Cherry Umali, wife of Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali.

Wenceslao also inducted into office Cabanatuan City Mayor Elizabeth Myca Vergara, Vice Mayor Joselito Roque and the city councilors.

Umali, on the other hand, took his oath of office before his brother, outgoing vice governor Anthony  Umali at the Crystal Waves Hotel and Resort in Talavera town.

In turn, the governor administered the oath-taking of municipal mayors  and councilors, most of whom are members of Umali’s political party Unang Sigaw.

In Quezon, Dean Joson  took his oath of office as mayor along with his mother Josefina Joson as vice mayor. Josefina is the former representative of Nueva Ecija’s 1st District.

In San Leonardo, Niña Joson was also sworn in as mayor of the town. She replaced her father Froilan, who served as mayor for the past nine years.

Niña is the wife of Dean Joson.

In Cabiao town, Ramil Rivera and his son Kevin also took their oath as mayor and vice mayor of the town.

in Gapan, 4th District Rep. Emerson Pascual took his oath of office before his father Pambuan Barangay Captain Rodrigo Boy Pascual at the municipal hall compound.

Emerson's  sister Gapan City Mayor Emary Joy Pascual also took her oath on Monday.
