MANILA, Philippines — Universal Motion Dancers (UMD) member Norman Santos passed away after battling kidney disease for more than a decade. He was 52.
His partner, Chato Maria, confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Feb. 5.
"It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Norman Santos on February 3, 2025, after a prolonged fight against kidney failure, necessitating dialysis for over 12 years."
Maria added that the viewing will take place from Feb. 12 to 16 at St. Peter Memorial Chapel in Tabacuhan, Olongapo City.
UMD was a popular dance group in the 1990s. Among its members were Brian Furlow, Marco McKinley, Gerry Oliva, twins Jim and James Salas, and the late Gerard Faisan.
