HYBE Label’s flower boys went head-to-head against each other in school uniforms, all for the title of “game master!”
On Run Jin’s 31st episode titled “Game Master Showdown 1” released on Tuesday, BTS’ Jin welcomed Tomorrow X Together members Yeonjun and Taehyun, Enhypen members Jungwon and Jay, as well as soloist Son Dongpyo to “Run Jin High School” to find the true “game master.”
The episode opened with Jin in a high school uniform, playing the role of an 18-year-old school president for “Run Jin High School.” For the episode’s concept, Jin is on the hunt to prove that he was the “game master” and invited challengers to disprove him.
Yeonjun and Taehyun from “Dubaddu High School,” Jungwon and Jay from “En-High,” and Dongpyo from Run Jin High School arrived as challengers.
“We might as well just have filmed at HYBE!” Jin quipped after seeing his fellow HYBE idols.
Games for the show were divided into four rounds or periods.
For the first round, the idols were asked to play “Snap Koongya” wherein they had to take photos blindfolded for 30 seconds and catch three recognizable faces to win.
The group dissolved into laughter at the snaps, with each idol trying and failing to run from the camera and Yeonjun being photographed each round.
“If you guys knew how I moved around, you wouldn’t be able to say [I was Cinderella],” Jin joked he was teased for getting his foot photographed by Taehyun.
For the next period, the idols were grouped into pairs to play "Buddy Limbo."
Yeonjun and Jay failed their first round after being given two tries, while Jin and Taehyun failed in their second round. Jungwon and Dongpyo won the game, landing them each a point.
For the last period of the episode, the idols played “Harvest the White Radish,” where the tagged player had 30 seconds to pull away as many players he could from the mat.
The game brought a lot of chaos, starting with Yeonjun and Dongpyo resorting to tickling Jin, Jin attempting to roll everyone in the carpet and having to end the game “due to human rights,” and Taehyun winning the game in less than 30 seconds by using “brute strength” to flip Yeonjun, Dongpyo, and Jay off the mat.
“Did I just ride the T-Express?” Dongpyo asked after Taehyun’s round.
“Making a living is really hard,” Jin replied as a joke.
The game ended with everybody scoring two points, except Taehyun and Yeonjun with one point each.
The recent episode garnered a lot of positive feedback from Army, MOA, and Engenes, who are eagerly awaiting the release of the second part of the episode.
“Yeonjun going from being the precious innocent protected baby on his first run jin appearance to being target #1 on this episode is so funny… I actually can’t stop laughing,” joked a netizen.
“We need a Run BTS x En-O’Clock x To Do ep! I need a whole chaos here!” another account said.
"Run Jin" is a spin-off variety show of Run BTS, with new episodes released on YouTube every Tuesday.
The second part of Run Jin’s “Game Master Showdown” will air on April 30.
Based on the preview, the players will do the 4th period by answering trivia questions while skating down a hallway, and end with a grand final “School’s Out” race where they will be running around the school to look for hidden flags with their names.
Earlier, Jin announced that he will be making a comeback with his second solo album “Echo” on May 16, 12 p.m. PHT.
He is also set to conduct his first solo tour “Run Seokjin EP tour” starting June 28, with stops in South Korea, Japan, United States, and Europe.
Meanwhile, TXT will also be making a comeback with digital single “Love Language” on May 2, and are currently finishing up their “Act: Promise Episode 2” world tour in Japan.
Enhypen had also recently released their own digital single “Loose” last April 4, and will be continuing their “Walk The Line” tour in US and Europe in August and September 2025. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/JCB, GMA Integrated News
