ALAMINOS, Laguna – A 40-year-old truck assistant was stabbed to death by a drunken man Sunday night in Barangay San Agustin here.
Police identified the victim as Ryan Dayrit, a resident of General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.
Investigation said the suspect, JR, a resident of Batangas City, arrived in a compound drunk and suddenly stabbed Dayrit for unknown reason with a bolo in the chest.
The suspect fled on board a motorcycle and the victim was declared dead in a hospital in San Pablo City, Laguna.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
Meanwhile, a 63-year-old businessman drowned while swimming on a beach during a post-birthday celebration on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2, in Barangay Talaan, Sariaya, Quezon.
Investigation said the victim from Alaminos, Laguna was caught by a strong wave and pulled into a deep portion and drowned.
He was rescued, provided first aid, and taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
