PERFORMERS from Dinagat Islands' Tribu Kamanting are set to stage what it calls a "resilient comeback" in this year's Sinulog Festival in Cebu City.

The tribe is composed of 400 student performers, artists and musicians from the province, and according to Dina-gat Islands Rep. Alan Uno Ecleo, expectations are high for their comeback.

"From a strong debut to a stronger comeback, we Dinagatnons will make our Islands proud," declared Ecleo.

"This year, expectations are high. But we are confident that Tribu Kamanting is ready to meet, even exceed expec-tations," added Ecleo.

The tribe is supported by the congressional office of Dinagat Islands, the Barug Dinagat Foundation and the munic-ipal government units.

Tribu Kamanting won big in their debut last year, placing first runner-up in the Ritual Showdown's Free Interpreta-tion category, second for best in musicality and fourth in street dancing.

Ecleo said that the young members of the tribe will represent the fighting spirit of their people and will also show everyone that when true Dinagatnons stand together, they will win.

Their performance, Ecleo added, will also highlight the resilience of Dinagatnons against challenges, including their recovery from Typhoon Odette, which devastated the province in 2021.

"We are joining to show the Philippines and the world that Dinagat Islands offer culture, history, natural beauty, and hardworking people ready to share the blessings of these Islands. We are ready to share the Dinagat experi-ence to tourists and visitors from all over the country and the world," said Ecleo.
