MANILA, Philippines — Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) achieved a milestone in 2025 as its local vehicle output hit a record high.

Speaking at the automotive firm’s media thanksgiving, TMP president Masando Hashimoto said the company produced 63,804 units at its Santa Rosa manufacturing plant last year.

TMP senior vice president Sherwin Chua-Lim said that TMP’s vehicle output last year was six percent higher than those produced in 2024.

Last year’s vehicle output was also TMP’s highest production volume in history.

“This milestone reflects the potential of the Philippine automotive manufacturing and the role TMP plays in sustaining it,” Chua-Lim said.

TMP produces the Tamaraw, Vios and Innova in the country.

“TMP is grateful to the Philippine government for its CARS (Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy) program, and we remain committed to working closely in revitalizing the automotive industry as a driver of nation-building,” Hashimoto said.

TMP participated in the CARS program, which seeks to incentivize vehicle manufacturing.

In terms of sales, Hashimoto said the company closed 2025 with a 46-percent market share as it sold 229,447 units, 5.2 percent higher year-on-year.

Vios remained TMP’s top-selling model with 27,811 units sold last year, followed by the Avanza with 24,704 units and the Hilux with 23,735 units.

The Tamaraw, which had its first full year in 2025, had sales of 17,542 units.

Last year, TMP also expanded its vehicle line-up through the rollout of its most affordable hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the ATIV and its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the bZ4X.

For this year, TMP plans to launch five vehicle models.

Chua-Lim said three new electrified models  –  the Urban Cruiser BEV, the RAV4 HEV and the LC300 HEV – would be launched in the first half.

The Land Cruiser FJ and the all-new Hilux are also set for rollout this year.

Apart from new vehicle model launches, TMP also plans to strengthen customer connection by expanding its presence in the country.

“We are diligently expanding Toyota and Lexus’ reach across  the country,” Chua-Lim said.

The Lexus QC Gallery, which had its groundbreaking last December,  and the new Toyota Antipolo dealership announced this month, are set to strengthen our connection with customers in providing the best care for them and their cars,” Hashimoto said.

Beyond production and sales, TMP also made contributions to local industry development last year.

In particular, TMP’s employment network reached over 83,000 Filipinos last year. It has also invested P3.9 billion in its workforce last year.

In 2025, Toyota Suppliers’ exports of auto parts and components also reached $1.09 billion, accounting for 30 percent of the country’s total auto parts exports last year.

TMP also contributed P43 billion to government revenues through payments of taxes and duties.

Through its vehicle production, TMP helped stimulate the domestic supply chain as it sourced P17 billion worth of local parts and components last year.
