MANILA, Philippines — Financial crime prevention firm Tookitaki has opened a satellite office in Makati, deepening its presence in the Philippines as demand for anti-fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions rises alongside the country’s fast-growing digital payments ecosystem.
The new office, located at Ayala Triangle Tower One, marks a step up from the company’s previous shared workspace arrangement and signals its long-term commitment to the local market. The launch event gathered key players in the financial crime and compliance space, including representatives from GCash, Maya, PayMongo and GoTyme.
Tookitaki said the move would allow it to expand its local team, strengthen partnerships with financial institutions and provide more on-the-ground support as transaction volumes and fraud risks increase.
“Financial crime is becoming more sophisticated, requiring institutions to adopt intelligent and collaborative technologies to stay ahead. Tookitaki’s AI-driven solutions and federated approach to fighting financial crime enable financial institutions to detect complex fraud patterns, uncover hidden risks and strengthen AML compliance,” said Abhishek Chatterjee, founder and CEO of Tookitaki.
“Our presence in Manila allows us to bring these capabilities closer to Philippine financial institutions and support their continued growth,” he added.
The Philippines has emerged as one of Southeast Asia’s most active digital finance markets, driven by the rapid adoption of e-wallets and online payments. This growth, however, has also increased exposure to fraud, scams and money laundering risks, prompting banks and fintech firms to invest more heavily in compliance systems and real-time monitoring tools.
Jeeta Bandopadhyay, co-founder and COO, said establishing a permanent base in Manila would improve responsiveness to clients and enhance collaboration across the region.
