Tony Gloria, the founder and chairman of production company Unitel Straight Shooters Media, has passed away. He was 79.

The renowned producer's passing was announced by his nephew, Alfonso Carlo Gloria Bigornia, through a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Gloria's niece, Anna Bigornia, also confirmed the news to GMA News Online. Anna and Alfonso's mother, Conchita Gloria-Bigornia, is the youngest sibling of Gloria.

“There are no words to truly express the weight of this loss. But we take comfort in knowing you’re in a better place now,” Alfonso wrote.

In his post, Alfonso described his Uncle Tony, also known as Mr. G or just Tony to many, as "a father figure" to them.

“Alongside our dad, he walked with us through every stage of life offering support, sharing wisdom, and never hesitating to speak the hard truths when we needed to hear them,” he said.

“Please give Dad a hug for us up there, we miss you both more than we can say. Rest easy, Uncle Ton. We love you. We'll take it from here."

Gloria passed away on Monday, March 24.

His urn viewing will be held from March 25 to March 28, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on March 29, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Capilla del Senor Chapel, Santuario de San Antonio Parish, in Forbes Park, Makati City.

Gloria's illustrious career in Philippine film, television, and advertising spans more than 35 years. In 2003, he was chosen by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies – Philippines (4As) as one of the 25 Mavericks of the Advertising Industry for his significant contributions to the industry.

He also received the Creative Guild of the Philippines Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.

Unitel Straight Shooters Media is the production company behind the films "Crying Ladies" (2003), "Santa Santita" (2004), "Pinoy Blonde" (2005), "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" (2011), "Mujigae" (2024), "Isang Himala" (2024), and many more.
