MANILA, Philippines — Comedian Tito Sotto reacted on Ely Buendia's statement that the song "Spoliarium" is not about the death of Pepsi Paloma.

In an interview with the media recently, Tito was asked for his reaction when Ely said that he idolizes him and "Eat Bulaga" co-hosts Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

“Si Ely? Yeah, yeah, we love his music! We support his music, and ‘yung grupo nila noon,” Tito said.

“Oh, thank you so much. Thank you so much!" he added.

“Pero sila ang mga bagong heroes ng entertainment industry, especially the music industry. Sila naman 'yun. And The feeling is mutual.”

During the recent "Eraserheads: Combo On The Run" press conference, Ely reiterated that the Eraserheads’ classic song "Spoliarium" is not about Tito, Vic and Joey, or Pepsi Paloma.

The rumors surrounding the song's meaning resurfaced on social media after the release of Darryl Yap's "The Rapist of Pepsi Paloma" trailer.

“I was really heartbroken when that thing came out because I was such a huge fan, they were my heroes (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon). And I wouldn’t dream of writing a song to, you know, to tarnish my heroes,” Ely said.

“So I think that’s the most ridiculous and real mean thing until today. That’s not about them, it’s not about Pepsi,” he added.
