MANILA, Philippines — "When Life Gives You Tangerines" starring IU and Park Bo-gum topped the "Best K-dramas of 2025" list released by Time magazine.

The outlet praised "When Life Gives You Tangerines" as "one of the year’s best TV series, full stop" for telling a "beautiful, deeply engaging story using only the stuff real life is made of."

"Anyone can make the fantastical seem extraordinary. But to make the ordinary feel extraordinary without losing any of its complexity or texture? What a rare and precious feat," Time also said

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" directed by Kim Won-suk and written by Lim Sang-choon was a co-production between Pan Entertainment and Baram Pictures that streamed on Netflix earlier this year.

Behind the show on Time's list was "Way Back Love" starring Gong Myung and Kim Min-ha and the third season of "Squid Game," the latter another Netflix product.

Completing the Top 5 were the Jun Ji-hyun starrer "Tempest" followed by "Our Unwritten Seoul" starring Park Bo-young, Park Jin-young, and Ryu Kyung-soo.

Also figuring on Time's list were "Resident Playbook," "Study Group," "The Tale of Lady Ok," "Spirit Fingers," and "Trigger."
