A Philippine forest dog or witch dog has already climbed 14 mountains in the Philippines!
In Kuya Kim's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, Henry Wong, a mountaineer, introduced his beloved canine companion, Bundok.
'Pag kasama ko siya sa pamumundok, wala akong alinlangan na baka alagaan ko siya kasi si Bundok po napaka-behave po during trail tsaka masunurin," he said.
"Kahit first time niya sa isang lugar alam na po niya agad 'yung daanan. Para po siyang nagiging isang tour guide," he added.
Henry said he and Bundok have conquered minor and major mountains in the country. His companion has also visited beaches.
The two of them are now planning to challenge themselves with reaching the summit of Mt. Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines.
"Ang paghahanda po namin ni Bundok sa Mt. Apo ay 'yung pag aakyat po namin ng mga major mountain dito sa Luzon para po pagdating po doon handa po 'yung katawan namin," he said. Hindi basta-basta 'yung Mt. Apo," he said.
The Philippine forest dog, or asong gubat in Tagalog, is an indigenous breed of a primitive dog in the Philippines. It is believed that they accompanied Filipino ancestors while hunting.
Some groups are advocating for their recognition as the first purebred dog from the Philippines.
