I cried while reading this post. 8 years in prison. Scapegoat. Stripped of freedom. While real druglords are still at large, probably living an extravagant life.

Imagine having a minimum wage job, then suddenly you're being arrested, sentenced to jail with no solid evidence. Do you know how confusing it is for him?

A woman held at knife point. Also arbitrarily imprisoned.

Common denominator? - Oppression, lack of support from the government, inability to investigate further.

Ms. Leila, Kuya Fidel, i hope Duterte's litigation finally eased your pains. It may not undo the injustice, but in the near future, all those perpetrators will pay a hefty price.

Our justice system is so flawed, easily manipulated. Impunity for the powerful and wealthy. Punishment for the weak and innocent.

This case is still open, and i have high hopes for Rep. Robert Ace Barbers to further investigate on this matter and unravel the truth. The sentence for him was reclusion perpetua (20-40 yrs in prison) and a fine of P50 million.
