MANILA, Philippines — Irish pop-rock band The Script are returning to the Philippines next year as part of their "Man in the Arena" tour.
The band's comeback will aptly be at the Mall of Asia Arena on March 18, 2027 courtesy of Wilbros Live with Midas Promotions.
The tour starting in October takes its name from the lead single off the group's upcoming eighth album "The User's Guide To Being Human" to be released this August.
"The User's Guide To Being Human" succeeds the 2024 release "Satellites," The Script's first album since the passing of guitarist Mark Sheehan.
That record saw vocalist Danny O'Donoghue try to process the grief following Sheehan's death, with every stop of the album's companion tour paying tribute to the late musician.
Within a week of the tour's conclusion, O'Donoghue began writing and recording new material with bandmates Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner and Jimbo Barry in Los Angeles.
"The User's Guide To Being Human" sees the singer establishing a powerful sense of purpose and direction for the next stage of the band.

"The title is what this album is about," O'Donoghue said in a statement. "If you need something to remind you of the spectrum of feelings and emotions that make you feel human, this is it."
"Man in the Arena" is billed as a hard-hitting R&B groove, with lyrics taken from the "Citizenship in a Republic" speech by former United States president Theodore Roosevelt in 1910.
According to O'Donoghue, Roosevelt talked about honors don't belong critics or "people on the couch, laughing at those stumbling and falling around."
"The honors belong to the one who gets in there and whose face is marred with dust and blood," the singer added. "I remember reading it and being like: that needs to be in a tune, the energy in it is beautiful."
"The User's Guide To Being Human" is already available for pre-order and pre-saving, and it can be purchased on CD and limited transparent vinyl.
Tickets for the Manila leg of the "Man in the Arena" tour will go on sale this Friday, May 29, at 9:30 a.m. via the SM Tickets website and outlets nationwide.
