The MICHELIN Guide has made its grand entrance to the Philippines!
On Tuesday, the esteemed guide announced that its team of anonymous inspectors has begun their culinary journey through the archipelago in preparation for the highly anticipated 2026 selection of extraordinary restaurants.
The inaugural edition of the MICHELIN Guide in the Philippines will spotlight the vibrant culinary scenes of Metro Manila and the dynamic city of Cebu. It will also extend its reach to nearby provinces of Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite.
This carefully curated selection aims to showcase a rich tapestry of flavors, dining experiences, and culinary innovation across the country.
"In Manila, we see young, talented chefs redefining Filipino cuisine with fresh perspectives, while Cebu, as a leading tourist destination, offers an impressive range of dining experiences with world-class hospitality," MICHELIN Guide international director Gwendal Poullennec said in a statement.
Since its inception in 1990, the MICHELIN Guide, created by the Michelin tire company to support the growth of automobile mobility, has remained loyal to its original mission of guiding international travelers and local foodies to the best restaurants, highlighting world culinary scenes, and promoting travel culture.
The selection follows the MICHELIN Guide's universal criteria based on ingredient quality, cooking technique mastery, the harmony of flavors, cuisine's personality, and consistency of the menu as a whole.
