MANILA, Philippines — "The Fate of Ophelia" has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine different weeks, a new personal record for singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
It beats Taylor's previous record held by "Anti-Hero", which held the chart's top spot for eight consecutive weeks beginning in November 2022.
The lead single off Taylor's latest album "The Life of a Showgirl" similarly reigned for its first eight weeks starting mid-October 2025 until it was toppled by holiday songs as the Christmas season began.
Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" extended its record being on the Billboard Hot 100 summit for a 22nd week, accompanied by other popular Christmas songs like "Jingle Bell Rock", "Last Christmas", "Santa Tell Me", "Feliz Navidad" and "White Christmas."
However, with the holidays now over, "The Fate of Ophelia" jumped from No. 29 to the chart's top spot, sealing Taylor's new record.
Fans will find the feat a good omen as the track is Taylor's 13th Billboard No. 1 — Swifties are very much aware that 13 is the singer's favorite number — tying her with Michael Jackson and Drake as artists with the fourth-most chart-toppers (behind Rihanna's 14, Mariah's 19, and the Beatles' 20).
Other than "Anti-Hero", Taylor's other top-charters are "Blank Space", "Cruel Summer", "Shake It Off", "Look What You Made Me Do", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "Fortnight", "Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault],", "All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)", "Willow", "Cardigan" and "Bad Blood."

Put together the 13 songs Taylor has atop the chart for 45 different weeks makes her the eighth-best among artists, behind Mariah, Rihanna, the Beatles, Drake, Boyz II Men, Usher and Beyonce.
That also means Taylor has the No. 1 song in 11 different years (2012, 2014-15, 2017, 2020-24, 2025-26). Only Mariah has more with 22 (1990-2000, 2005-06, 2008, 2019-26).
Nine weeks may seem minimal to the 22 weeks of "All I Want For Christmas Is You", but even non-holiday tracks have lengthy stays atop the Billboard Hot 100 like "A Bar Song Tipsy" and "Old Town Road" (both 19 weeks), "Last Night" and "Despacito" (both 16 weeks), and "As It Was" (15 weeks).
Another song by Mariah, "One Sweet Day", in collaboration with Boyz II Men, also spent 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 summit.
Locally, "The Fate of Ophelia" debuted atop the Philippines Hot 100 the week of October 18, 2025 as it and another "The Life of a Showgirl" track "Opalite" knocked off Cup of Joe's "Multo" off its perch.
That would be the song's only time as No. 1 as "Opalite" and "Multo" exchanged weeks on top until 2025 ended.
As of writing, "The Fate of Ophelia" has spent 12 weeks on the Philippines Hot 100 and sits at No. 8, with fitterkarma's "Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II" kicking off 2026 as the new No. 1.
