MANILA, Philippines — Actresses Janella Salvador and Klea Pineda subtly addressed where they stand in each other's lives after multiple sightings together.
Janella and Klea appeared on the June 9, 2026 episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" alongside Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Leanne Mamonong to promote their film "Open Endings."
The sapphic movie was part of last year's Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival and is getting a wide release this June 10.
After a short discussion on queer relationships, Boy asked Janella to expound on something she had said in the past, "I love who I love."
"That exact same thing... Love doesn't have to be defined by anything, you just feel it, you just know," Janella said, adding that she does believe in romantic labels.
Boy then pivoted to Klea and noted she's been spotted with Janella numerous times, even posting photos together, although admitted feeling uncomfortable about the discussion despite being queer like Klea.
The host directly asked Klea and Janella what they both mean to one another. Klea first described Janella as "tahanan" and "home," adding that the latter calms all the noise in her head.
"Sino si Klea sa buhay ko? My favorite gay, and hopefully someone who will stay," Janella quipped when it was her turn to answer.
Klea also said she and Janella were there for each other and learns a lot from her, jokingly including singing lessons.
"I feel like we're both at that point in our lives where we've matured and we really want to apply all the lessons that we've learned from our past to whatever we have now," Janella chipped in.
Jasmine expressed her support for both Janella and Klea, noting how important it was for the public to see how normal same-sex relationships are, while Leanne — who is also queer — briefly added that happiness was for everyone.
Earlier in the episode, Jasmine enthused that the world was waiting for the Philippines to embrace same-sex marriages and "get on the same boat as everyone" given how much progess is being done elsewhere to make such unions legal.
Both Klea and Leanne agree that queer relationships are no different from heterosexual ones, the former admitting though the challenges of queer individuals include more judgment from others.
"Pero pagdating sa pag-ibig, parehas lang sila," Klea said, with Leanne adding "If you think about it, it's just like any other relationship built on love, trust, and respect." — Video from GMA Network's YouTube channel
