LEGAZPI CITY —The prime suspect in the killing of Dr. Rajean Monette Romualdez, 36, an obstetrician-gynecologist of Bicol Medical Center in Naga City, surrendered to the operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19.
NBI senior agent Joey Asejo told The Manila Times that the suspect, Raymart V. Martinez, surrendered in Matnog, Sorsogon.
Martinez was said to be the last companion of Romualdez, who was found lifeless inside a car parked near the BIR office in Naga City on Feb. 16, 2025.
Martinez was identified as a person of interest by the Philippine National Police which formed a team to hunt down the suspect.
The NBI in Bicol also worked with the PNP to hunt down the prime suspect. Martinez surrendered to NBI Bicol led by director Jaime Santiago a day after former mediaman-turned-businessman Noel De Luna offered a P1 million reward.
