Surigao del Sur under state of calamity due to Basyang’s effects

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur—Surigao del Sur is under a state of calamity following a declaration by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during a special session on Monday. Based on situational reports from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Tropical Depression Basyang (international name: Penha) has left 95,670 families, or 359,887 individuals, affected, displacing 33,071
