MANILA, Philippines — Get your shopping bags and credit cards ready as specialty retailer SSI Group Inc. is set to bring in to the local market a slew of new international brands this year.

The move is part of the company’s expansion initiative that is driven by its confidence in the strength of the country’s growing economy.

Marti Atienza, head of corporate planning of SSI, told The STAR that the group is opening exciting new brands this 2025.

Atienza said that SSI would be opening in October the first store in the country of activewear brand Alo Yoga.

She also said that SSI is also opening Sandro and Maje and Alice and Olivia stores in the third quarter.

By June, the Tantoco-led company will likewise open the first store in the Philippines of a large global multi brand sportswear retailer.

Also to be opened by the group this year are new Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear stores in Alabang.

Further, SSI will be opening Oysho, the athleisure brand of the Zara Group.

As part of the company’s ongoing expansion, SSI reopened last week its flagship Zara store in Greenbelt which is the largest in the country.

“We’re optimistic about the prospects this year. Post-COVID, a lot of the growth was driven by luxury. But now, we’re expecting that growth will also be driven by the fast fashion brands. So for this year, we’re quite optimistic about the fast fashion brands,” Atienza said.

SSI is specialty retailer with 96 brands in its portfolio as of end September 2024.

The group’s store network included 565 stores nationwide which cover a total of approximately 111,816 square meters.

SSI’s brand portfolio covers various categories such as luxury, casual, fast fashion, footwear, accessories and luggage as well as home furnishings and accessories, interior design items, food and personal care.
