MANILA, Philippines — Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. (SPAVI) is making a big push in the United States as it looks to set up another subsidiary to support its expansion.

SPAVI’s board of directors has approved the incorporation of another subsidiary in the US, which will be fully owned by SPAVI International USA Inc.

The new subsidiary’s intended principal activities will include engaging in franchising activities as well as marketing SPAVI group’s products and brands.

Its registration is expected to be completed by next month.

“The incorporated entity will be SPAVI USA’s platform in its expansion plans in the territory which will grow systemwide sales, revenues and bottomline internationally via franchised stores in the territory,” SPAVI said.

SPAVI USA, on its end, was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPAVI in October last year to support the group’s expansion plans.

A leading player in the casual dining and food service industry, SPAVI’s portfolio includes market-leading pizza chain Shakey’s, top food kiosk chain Potato Corner as well as emerging brands such as Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar, R&B Milk Tea and Project Pie.

As of the end of the first quarter, SPAVI has a total of 2,671 units in its global network.

The international footprint of SPAVI comprised close to a fifth of the group’s network as of end March.

For this year, the company will continue with its aggressive network expansion, with plans to add at least 430 new stores across its portfolio of brands.

SPAVI is maintaining its double-digit sales and bottomline growth outlook for 2025, which will be supported by the addition of new stores and outlets to its global network.
