MANILA, Philippines — Former broadcaster Jay Sonza and social media personality Erik Celiz posted bail yesterday in the cyberlibel case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation for their alleged posting of fake medical records of President Marcos.
The Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 111, which issued an arrest warrant on Thursday against Sonza and Celiz, a former rebel, approved the bail for both accused.
Sonza posted P10,000 for his temporary liberty while Celiz posted P36,000.
“We will continue the fight for the truth and the right for freedom of expression,” Celiz said.
Both men posted the bail yesterday with their counsel, Mark Tolentino, accompanying them.
They previously posted bail for another case pending before the Pasay RTC Branches 118 and 119.
The cases stemmed from their alleged postings of unverified medical reports on Marcos’ health status.
