COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Suspected remnants of terrorist group, Dawlah Islamiyah, shot dead an Army soldier in Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur on Friday.
Cpl. Raven Bulaclac of the Army’s 55th Infantry Battalion was on a motorcycle when he was killed in Barangay Bandara-Ingud. He died at the scene of the attack, the Army said.
The gunmen fled, taking with them personal belongings of Bulaclac.
Local officials said that Bulaclac helped facilitate the surrender of some members of Dawlah Islamiyah in previous years.
