Honoring the roots of a lasting legacy—Jose Chan Lim, patriarch of the Chan Lim family of artists, showcases one of his paintings at the art exhibit.

MANILA, Philippines — SM City Santa Rosa welcomed the Lunar New Year in an all-out celebration with the launch of “Galloping into Prosperity,” showcasing 400 artworks by Chan Lim Family of Artists and students—marking the 53rd Painting Exhibit in SM Supermalls.

The grand opening filled the mall with festive energy, highlighted by a lively Lion and Dragon Dance, ceremonial balloon popping for the opening and a high-energy CNY Dance Craze performance—setting the tone for a year of abundance, luck and new beginnings.

The exhibit presents 400 artworks integrated into scrolls, plates, umbrellas and lanterns.

Grand and culturally rich, the exhibit takes center stage at the mall’s Amphitheater as the heart of SM City Santa Rosa’s Chinese New Year 2026 celebration, delivering a maxed-out cultural and visual experience for mall-goers. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, the installation symbolizes strength, resilience, progress and abundance—reflecting the optimism and forward momentum of the year ahead.

Adding to the celebration was an art workshop participated in by Lion City Youth Inc. further enriching the exhibit’s educational and cultural value.

Lion Dance performances bring tradition and festive energy to the launch.

The centerpiece features two commanding, lifelike horse statues, surrounded by a striking arrangement of 15 paintings, 140 umbrellas, 100 scrolls, 48 decorative plates and 100 lanterns. Together, these elements transform the mall into a dynamic visual landscape—inviting mallgoers to pause, explore, capture moments and celebrate the season in a truly festive and share-worthy setting. The art exhibit runs from February 1 to March 1.
