COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A 16-year-old high school student and her brother died after their motorcycle collided with a delivery van in Datu Anggal Midtimbang in Maguindanao del Sur on Friday.
Norsiya Saban and her brother, Suhod, 8, died at the scene of the accident that occurred in Barangay Adaon, police said.
Reports said Saban, who was driving a Honda Click 125, and her brother were traveling along the Cotabato-Isulan Highway when they figured in the accident.
Van driver Ernie Yuag, 52, surrendered after the incident.
Meanwhile, in Bulacan, a rider died after he fell off his motorcycle and hit by a van in the town of San Rafael on Friday night.
John Christopher Gicalao died while being treated at the Baliuag District Hospital, according to Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, Central Luzon police director.
Report said the victim was traveling in Barangay Tambubong when his motorcycle slid.
Probers said an Isuzu van driven by Eric Perino hit Gicalao after he fell off his vehicle.
Perino surrendered after the incident.
