MANILA, Philippines — Security Bank Foundation Inc. (SBFI) delivered measurable gains in education in 2025, expanding classroom capacity, strengthening school leadership and supporting hundreds of scholars as the country continues to face classroom shortages and a large population of out-of-school youth.

In a statement, the corporate social responsibility arm of Security Bank Corp. said its programs addressed persistent gaps in education access amid disaster-damaged facilities and nearly 11 million out-of-school Filipino children.

Under its flagship Build a School, Build a Nation program, SBFI has now delivered a total of 901 classrooms to 153 schools across 92 cities and municipalities nationwide. These include newly built classrooms as well as the rehabilitation of older donations to ensure long-term use.

In 2025 alone, the foundation turned over 62 new classrooms, equivalent to nine school buildings. Beyond new construction, SBFI repaired 80 classrooms and rehabilitated 48 facilities damaged by disasters or termites, reinforcing school safety and resilience.

SBFI also invested in human capital through its Mentoring Future Leaders for Nation-Building program, training 79 principals and 88 teachers in leadership, mentoring and school governance.

Support for learners went beyond tuition and allowances, with SBFI addressing both financial and health-related barriers. The foundation supported 302 scholars and celebrated the graduation of 103 students, including 31 who earned college degrees.

In partnership with Ideal Vision Center and the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of San Francisco del Monte, the foundation also distributed 1,170 eyeglasses to students to help improve classroom performance.

These initiatives were reinforced through partnerships with government agencies, corporations and Security Bank employees. In 2025, SBFI signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Education granting nationwide recognition to its training program and contributed to Senate discussions on improving public classroom delivery.
