Ruru Madrid revealed he was recently rushed to the hospital while taping for Lolong.
In an Instagram post, the Sparkle star recounted how he felt his leg give out while filming for the series.
“Kahapon, habang nagte-taping para sa 'Lolong,' I was giving it my all--full speed--then suddenly, pop. Alam kong may mali. My leg gave out, and I couldn't continue,” Ruru said.
Ruru was then rushed to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed he had pulled his hamstring. He also had an MRI and is currently waiting for the results.
“[H]oping and praying na hindi ito Grade 3 strain, which means a full tear that could take weeks or even months to recover,” Ruru continued.
The Kapuso actor expressed how he felt bad about having to stop the filming.
“All I could think about was my team, the scenes we still have to finish, and how much I wanted to push through. But that's the reality of doing action--sometimes, your body reminds you that you're only human,” Ruru explained.
Despite the challenge, Ruru assured he would not let it hinder him.
“Challenges like this don't break me--they build me. This is just a pause, not the end. Every setback is a setup for a stronger comeback. I will rise from this--wiser, tougher, and more unstoppable than ever,” he said.
Ruru also took the time to thank everyone who checked up on him, especially his girlfriend and fellow Sparkle actress Bianca Umali, who stayed by his side.
“[S]alamat dahil hindi mo ako iniwan sa oras na 'to. Your presence, love, and support mean everything to me,” Ruru told Bianca.
Ruru concluded the post with a promise to come back stronger.
“This is just part of the journey. And trust me, I'm coming back stronger. See you soon,” he said.
