San Miguel Corp. (SMC) head honcho Ramon S. Ang projects continued growth and success for the conglomerate in 2025, building on its recent recognition by TIME magazine.

SMC and its subsidiaries, Petron Corp. and Ginebra San Miguel Inc., were all recognized among the top 500 companies in the Asia Pacific region, bolstering RSA’s confidence in the group's future performance.

"This recognition sets the stage for an even stronger 2025," Ang commented. "It continues to prove that Filipino companies can compete on the global stage and make meaningful impact beyond business."

SMC led the Philippine contingent, ranking 85th overall, while Petron and GSMI secured the 216th and 345th positions, respectively.

TIME's ranking methodology emphasizes key performance indicators such as employee satisfaction, financial performance, and commitment to sustainability and transparency—all crucial factors for long-term growth and responsible corporate governance.

This achievement follows a series of international accolades for SMC. Earlier this year, the company was included in TIME's World's Best Companies list (ranking 463rd) and Forbes' Best Employers list (ranking 89th), where it achieved the highest ranking among Philippine companies within the top 100.

SMC's diversified business portfolio plays a critical role in national development, with investments in infrastructure, energy, and environmental initiatives.

The company's Better Rivers PH project, for instance, has successfully removed over eight million tons of waste from nine river systems across Luzon, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, SMC's ongoing expansion of its infrastructure network, encompassing expressways and airports, is designed to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activity.

Beyond its core business operations, SMC is actively involved in addressing social issues, particularly food security.

The company supports local farmers through strategic partnerships and operates Better World community centers, which provide essential services in areas such as hunger relief, education, and healthcare.
