MANILA, Philippines — The relic of the miraculous saint from Lebanon will be in a church in Malate, Manila.

According to the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, the relic of St. Charbel Makhlouf, a Lebanese priest and monk, will remain in the church until March 8.

The relic arrived in the Philippines on Sunday, March 1, from Annaya, Lebanon.

A welcome Mass was held at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish upon its arrival.

Over 30,000 miraculous healings have been attributed to the intercessions of St. Charbel Makhlouf.

He is recognized as a saint by borh the Catholic Church and the Maronite Church, a “sui iuris” church in full communion with Rome.

Makhlouf died on Dec. 24, 1898 and was canonized by Pope Paul VI in October 1977. — with reports from the STAR/ Evelyn Macarian
