RIZAL Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) and Hungry Workhorse have officially signed a strategic partnership agreement to transform the delivery of financial services in the Philippines through a cutting-edge, API-first approach. This digital initiative is powered by APIwiz, the primary technology enabler, with Hungry Workhorse serving as its official Philippine partner.
The partnership marks the rollout of RCBC's Digital 2.0 Marketplace, a platform built on APIwiz's centralized API management system. This empowers RCBC to rapidly design, govern and deploy composable APIs, enabling real-time service integration and positioning the bank as a dynamic digital platform. APIwiz's APIOps framework provides the technological backbone, streamlining the entire API lifecycle with built-in governance, automation and developer collaboration tools.
This move aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)'s proposed guidelines on the Digital Financial Marketplace model, which aims to create an open and secure digital environment where financial products and services can be seamlessly offered by both banks and third-party providers. The BSP envisions this framework as a key pillar in strengthening the country's financial ecosystem, promoting interoperability, consumer protection and innovation through trusted API-led infrastructures.

Hungry Workhorse — as both RCBC's innovation services partner and APIwiz's local implementation arm — plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless integration and rapid delivery of these next-generation digital banking solutions. The firm will also provide design thinking, implementation support and digital talent development to support the transformation.
