MANILA, Philippines — Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) is seeing continued momentum in its credit card business heading into the holiday season, supported by robust consumer spending and a fast-expanding base of premium and digitally active clients.

By the end of the third quarter, RCBC’s issuing billings climbed by 32 percent year-on-year while credit card receivables jumped by 37 percent, underscoring resilient household consumption and sustained retail activity.

The bank now serves more than 1.4 million active cardholders, a 19-percent increase from a year ago.

RCBC Credit Cards president and CEO Arniel Vincent Ong said the portfolio’s strength reflects rising demand for elevated lifestyle benefits and seamless digital services.

“RCBC credit cards continue to appeal to discerning customers who expect more from their cards, whether that means access to exclusive dining privileges, worry-free travel or instant rewards with every purchase,” he said.

“Our expanding customer base reflects the strong confidence our clients place in the RCBC brand.”

He said RCBC Pulz app, which allows users to manage accounts in real time, remains a key differentiator. Cardholders continue to maximize digital features including Unli Installment for on-demand installment conversion and UnliPay, which lets clients use their card limit to pay merchants that do not accept credit cards.

RCBC said card usage has risen sharply across categories tied to experiences, with travel, dining and e-commerce leading growth. Electronics and gadget purchases have also increased as consumers take advantage of year-end sale events and installment programs.

Digital adoption remains a major driver of expansion. Digital acquisitions surged by 88 percent year-on-year, while in-app activity through Pulz continues to strengthen.

RCBC is also among the first Philippine banks to enable Mastercard and Visa cards on Google Pay, giving cardholders access to faster and more secure contactless payments.

The bank continues to reinforce cardholder engagement through perks such as airport lounge access, food treats, grocery and dining discounts as well as cashback on installment purchases. New clients may also avail themselves of RCBC’s no annual fee for life offer.

RCBC’s credit card segment remains the biggest contributor to its consumer lending book, accounting for 39 percent of total retail loans.

Now the country’s fifth-largest privately owned bank, RCBC said it is committed to expanding customer-focused digital solutions.

Its credit card arm continues to “deliver innovative financial solutions and superior customer experiences” through a suite of products crafted for different lifestyles from travel privileges to flexible payment options.
