MANILA, Philippines — For Original Pilipino Music (OPM) icon Raymond Lauchengco, life begins at 60 as he embarks on a new career chapter as an author.

Raymond, who turned 60 years old last November 29, a day after his sold-out birthday concert, "Everybody Loves Raymond", at Solaire, formally unveiled his book "Dance With The Wind" recently at Breakfast at Antonios in Quezon City.

The 100-plus-page volume contains Raymond's personal photos, essays and short stories, as well as images of his artworks, that he made during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It wasn't the first time in my life to write, but I was writing practically every day. And I wanted... I needed desperately to write things that were encouraging and uplifting," Raymond said.

He said that he did not know that what kept him going during that challenging time would later become his own book about hope and inspiration.

"If someone had told me before that one day I’d have my very own book published, I would have laughed in disbelief,” he said.

"But hey, dreams can come true at any age and stage of your life," he added.

A few days after the book launch, Raymond won Aliw Awards' Best Male Artist in a Major Concert for his above-mentioned birthday show.
